The Gardener moved a little to try and relax.
He stretched his hand to the side and as he did he push into the
thorn bush that he had seen earlier. He jerked his hand away from
the pain that he felt from one of the large sharp thorns on the
stalk of the plant. He turned and looked at the torn and immediately
recognized it as a rose bush. He looked at it closely and followed
the long green stem from the root base up to the end where he
saw a very small bud beginning to form. He reached out and touched
the bud to see if he could tell what color the rose was going
to be. He could see just a shade of red showing through and this
is where he stopped to comprehend what this plant was going to
say. All the other things he had touched so far had left him with
a impressive message, surely this plant would share it message
with him. He began to contemplate about his own life and how there
were similarities to this plant and his own growth. As he though
about his life he could relate to choices that he had made that
had caused great pain to others around him and he realized that
these choices were much like the sharp thorns on the stem of the
rose. He thought about the root system of the plant and related
to the heritage that he had received from all that had transpired
previously in his life and realized that this was his root system
from which he received his strength. His eyes followed the stem
which was green as if to say keep on going, until he came upon
one of the leaves. He looked at this for a long time and began
to realize that the leaf was like his eyes, for they were the
vehicle through which he was able to receive the light which would
bring about growth. Finally he was jolted back to the realization
that the color of the leaf was green and that this was not the
stopping point. His eyes followed the stalk back once again to
the bud and as he looked upon the red bud beginning to open, he
knew that the message that he needed to hear was here. He stopped
and waited, for there was no doubt in his mind that now he would
once again here a voice of some sort explain the significance
of the rose bush to him. He waited and nothing seemed to happen.
He waited longer and finally he said, "I'm ready, why are
you not speaking to me?" He was concerned, for he knew there
was a message that he wanted to hear for this plant surely had
much to offer for it has become the symbol of love in our society.
He looked closely at the this bush and saw that there was a full
bloom rose on the other side of the plant. He reached around and
gently removed this bloom to look at it more closely. As he brought
it closer he noticed that the pedals of the bloom were beginning
to fall off. He picked one of these up and as he did he could
see that upon these pedals there seemed to be written a message.
He brought the first pedal close and he could see with perceptive
clarity what was written upon the pages contained within this
rose. ---- You have finally open yourself to the realization that
you need to search for truth. In order for this to happen you
first needed to look beyond yourself by searching with in yourself.
You did this as you began to relate how the growth of the rose
bush had parallels with your own growth. If you will but read
the impressions that are left upon my pedals by the slow growth
of mankind you will begin to better understand how you can equate
truth with love. Just as you stopped as you reached the red rose
which symbolizes love, you need to do the same with in your own
life. The total purpose of your existence is to develop those
blooms in your life which are symbolized by the love that you
learn to share. Truth is nothing more than the total implantation
of love which will bring about a harmonic co-existence of all
things. The process that will stir the changes that are necessary
in order for this to take place have been impressed upon my pedals
as man has slowly begun his realization that all truth has always
existed and that those truths are so simple if we only look for
them within himself. As you looked at the roots of the rose bush
you could feel the heritage that gave you your strength. The root
of your strength is found in your inner subconscious. This is
your connection with every detail that has had an effect upon
you since the beginning of time. What you are is the total sum
of all that you have seen, felt, heard, or experienced since your
very beginning. This root base is from where you draw your strength
and understanding to make choices that will lead toward your growth.
This root base is also your connection with your very own creation.
From this connection you are able receive that which you need
in order to understand the truths of your mission. Even though
your mission may be similar to others who are much like you, no
two have the very same mission. Within your root base is contained
those qualities that make you an unique individual. As you grow
out from your roots you will find that there are many things that
you do that will cause pain to those around you. It is when you
begin to realize that this is not what life is all about that
you begin to look for new growth. Your senses are like the leaves
on the rose. It is through these senses that you receive the light
or sensations that will bring about new growth. As you begin to
grow you soon will find that there are unique qualities about
yourself that allows you to effect other people in a positive
way. You will also find that there are many unique aspects of
other people that you like and this is the beginning of your understanding
of love. It is when you learn to give of your uniqueness with
no expectations in return that you begin to show your first bloom.
This bloom does not last, it is just the first of what can be
many such experiences. If in time you learn to bloom in all situations
you will find that it is almost impossible to notice your thorns
any longer. What you will find written upon the pages of my pedals
are insights into how you can increase these blooms so that in
time you will have replaced those aspects of your life that bring
out the thorns with positive attributes that allows your life
to be a bouquet of roses for all to see and in the process a model
for which others might also find the harmony of co-existence that
you have. These pages will not be opened to you all at once but
only as you are in need of them to reach the next level of understanding.
The unfortunate aspect of this is that you will only recognize
these pages if you are searching for truth. It is only in your
own search that you will be able to understand your mission and
what you need for growth. ----- The first insight into growth
will be revealed to you at this time. This insight actually has
many different aspect to it and will be revealed to each at the
level of their own understanding. What you receive from this insight
will depend on where you are and what you have experienced up
to this time in your life. The rose bush has different cycles
through which it must go in different seasons of it existence.
As it changes from one cycle to another there will be dead wood
which will be apart of this plant. This dead wood through which
it was able to bloom before now becomes a liability that needs
to be trimmed away so that the strength of growth is not sapped
away from where it is really needed. Nature has a way of doing
this over a period of time. A rose that is going to reach its
full bloom and full potential needs the help of man in order for
this process to be expedited. The uniqueness of this process is
that as man goes about working with a rose to reach its full potential
he is actually activating his own growth in allowing his own blossoms
to form. The dead wood that must to be trimmed away so that growth
is not held back must not be discarded. If it is placed at the
root base, the decaying of this dead wood helps to activate new
growth. Decaying is not a destroying process but rather a changing
process that is necessary. The process goes on and nothing that
ever was is destroyed but only changed. This changing process
is necessary for new growth in order for full potential to be
reached. ------- The second insight relates to the fact that the
rose if left to its self in the wild the flowers never grow quite
as large or seem to bloom to capacity. For the rose to reach full
potential it needs to be gently cared for by man. If man is willing
to take the time to go beyond his own self and give proper care,
help nourish, remove dead growth, and patiently wait with little
expectation, the rose will give back in its proper time when every
condition is ripe, more blooms and more beautiful blooms than
if it is left to grow with no external care. If your own life
can be equated to the rose as you felt earlier then you will know
what needs to be done. ----- Upon each pedal there is inscribed
another insight. As you begin to open your understanding to the
truths of nature, you will find that another insight will be revealed
to you. With that, the rose that he was holding began to float
from his hand and began to disappear. Then it seemed to float
near to him and he felt as those it was being absorbed by his
very soul. With that the rose he was holding was gone.
