A Vort About My Life:

I was born in New York, but am NOT a "New Yorker." I spent the first two and a half months of my life in Manhattan, but then moved to Sioux City, Iowa. After four years there, my family moved to El Paso, Texas for five years. After that we moved to Denver, Colorado for a short stay of three years. The summer before my Bar Mitzvah, we moved to Detroit, where I attended Akiva Hebrew Day School for High School. My senior year, my parents decided to move again (to Toronto, Ontario - that's in Canada), but I stayed in Detroit to finish up school. After graduating, I attended Yeshivas Reishis Yerushalayim, in the Old City of Jerusalem for two years. The summer of '98 I worked for Aish HaTorah's Essentials program in the Old City, Jerusalem. The following summer ('99) I helped coordinate a summer Kollel in Jacksonville, Florida, and then worked as a counselor at NCSY's Camp Sports in Baltimore, Maryland. The summer of 2000 I coordinated the second annual "Jacksonville Kollel," which, Baruch HaShem has been tremendously successful, and we have had one every year since. In May 2000 I graduated from Yeshiva University with a BA in Psychology and am currently enrolled in the Semicha program of Rabbeinu Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary (RIETS), an affiliate of Yeshiva University. On May 31st, 2001 I married Yonina Berkowitz from Rego Park, NY, and our Bechor, Elisha was born March 10th, 2002. Our second son, Malkiel was born Erev Rosh HaShana 5764.
