Prometheus

Prometheus, whose name means foresight, possesses powers of prophecy. He warned his son Deucalion that the gods were planning a flood to rid the Earth of man so he could escape. Prometheus is the son of the Titan Iapetus, and Clymene. He also had several brothers, which include Atlas, Epimetheus, and Menoetius. Prometheus is said to have created the first men from potters clay. Prometheus gave fire to man by taking it from the sparks of the sun. This made Zeus so angry that he had Prometheus chained to a rock in the Caucasus were a eagle would eat at his liver everyday. Zeus also punished man by sending specially fashioned women (Pandora).
