Wind Gods

Aeolus
The keeper of the winds. In the Odyssey he gave Odysseus the bag of all the winds except the one that was going to take him home. Odysseus' crew opened the bag of winds when he was asleep thinking it had tresure inside. The winds blew them farther off course.

Boreas
The god of the North Wind, son of the dawn (Eos) and the stars (Astraeus) He was worshiped in Attica because the north wind had assisted the Greeks at the naval battle of Artemisium.

Eurus
God of the East Wind.

Notus
God of the South Wind.

Zephyrus
God of the West Wind, he was in love with Chloris, the goddess of spring. But sometimes he is married to Iris, the goddess of the rainbow and the female messenger of the god. He is also the father of Achilles' horse, Xanthus.
