Simple Web Site Examples

Websites aren't all that difficult to create! If they were, not that many people would be doing them. While the website I'm working on for my classes have become like writing a major book, here are six other web pages I've created that are quite a bit simpler. I used some major free website developers in cyberspace. Keep in mind that you will have to put up with some irritating banner ads or pop up ads for the free service.

1. Geocities

   Hershman John I've found working with GeoCities less frustrating than some other free services. It also has an excellent online support system when you have problems to solve. It gives you 15 free MB and has a user friendly editor. A significant drawback is the long URL name you will use for the free service.

    

2. Tripod

   Stan Musial Pages Tripod has good services too. It now gives you 20 free MB and has some excellent other services. It is also very easy to work with, but you will also have a rather unwieldy URL name to use.

    

3. FortuneCities

   Comparative Religion Even though this site offers 20 free MB, its server is often down and hard to get into. It is also more difficult to load graphics. Someday this may develop into a great service, considering that they recently moved their server from London to Phoenix. * Note: I have been unable to access the account since I cannot locate my old login name, and my efforts to contact Fortune Cities have been ignored.

    

4. Angelfire

   Chicago Blues Angelfire offers just 5 free MB, but also has one of the most reliable free servers on the Net, as it is nearly always up and running.

    

5. Freeservers

   World Religions Freeservers offers 20 MB of free web space, but I've found that the server has gone down a few times more than I like. It is very easy to work with though, AND you can get a much simpler free domain name through Freeservers.

    

6. Hypermart

   Janice Warren Murals Hypermart is the best free web site hosting place on the Internet for anyone wanting a business site. It offers 10 free MB of space, and has very reliable servers. Don't expect as much technical support for creating pages as you'll find in most of the other free sites, however.
