Jesus Christ True God & True Man

Since Christadelphians deny the divinity of Christ, this is one of the main issue that will be Clarified, namely that Jesus Christ is True God & True Man.

In his use of "Father" Jesus constantly referred to God as "My Father" and claimed to have a unique relationship with Him. In Mark 14:36 He called God Abba, Aramaic for "daddy," an absolutely unprecedented address of God {cf. Rom 8:15, Gal 4:6}. And He says "My Father and Your Father" (Jn 20:17), not "our Father." The Jews understood full well what Jesus was implying by repeatedly speaking of His singular relationship with God the Father, but thought this was blasphemy, since they didn't believe that He Himself was God the Son {cf. Jn 5:18, 10:33 }.

Jesus is our redeemer , our King, and Lord. But not all who call themselves Christian agree on who Jesus is, this is because they often use the scripture to their own destruction (2 Peter 3:15-16). Some say He is God in flesh, others that He is an angel who became a man (Jehovas Claim this ), and still others teach He only came into existence at His birth. Such is the position of the Christadelphians. To them, Jesus did not exist as God. To them, He was just a man who first existed at His birth. However this is neither what the Scriptures State or what the Early Christians believed by this you will clearly see the error of the Christadelphians. The Scriptures says that whoever denies that Jesus has come in the flesh is of the spirit of the Antichrist (1 John 4:1-2). Although the Christadelphians agree that Jesus came in the flesh. But they will not agree that He is God in flesh. John himself wrote 1:18 "No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared {him}. Monogenes ("Only Begotten") The phrase "only begotten (Son)" (also used in Jn 3:16,18 and 1 Jn 4:9) is the Greek monogenes, which means, according to any Greek lexicon, "unique, only member of a kind." It does not mean "created," as some (e.g.,Christadelphians &Jehovah's Witnesses ) falsely interpret it. Christ is the eternal Son of God, and as such, possesses every attribute of pure Godhood, just as a human son partakes fully of humanness.

Further He (John) (John 1:1, 14), "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. . .and the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. . ." Obviously, from the context, John is not simply saying that you must believe that Jesus lived, you must believe that He is the Word made flesh. And since he already said that the Word was God, Jesus, therefore, is God in flesh. This seems simple enough. But it isn’t for the Christadelphians. In their pamphlets "Who is Jesus Christ?", the "Word" is discussed. On page 12, in reference to John 1:1, the pamphlet says, "The Greek term translated 'word' is logos. It signifies the outward form of inward thought or reason, or the spoken word as illustrative of thought, wisdom and doctrine. The Bible teaching is that in the very beginning, God’s purpose, wisdom or revelation was proclaimed through His Word. This Word was 'with God' in that it emanated from Him; it 'was God' in that it represented Him to mankind. . ." The problem with their reasoning is not that their definition, in itself, is incorrect. For it can be said that the Word was indeed the wisdom and emanation from God. But that is not all it is saying. It is saying that the Word WAS God. Jesus IS the Word. He isn’t simply a manifestation of some divine attribute or quality. Also, what about the context? In John 1:2-3 it says, "He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made" (NIV). First, the word is referred to as masculine. Wisdom in Proverbs 8:1-2 is personified as feminine. There is a difference. Second, the Word is who created all things (See also Col. 1:16-17). Of course, it is naturally understood that this does not include God Himself. But all that is made, has been made by the Word that became flesh. Third, the Word is revered to as a person, not a quality which the Christadelphians have imposed into the text. In reference to John 1:14, "The Word became flesh and dwelt among us and we beheld His glory, glory of the only begotten full of grace and truth," the pamphlet states on page 13, "When did the begettal take place? When the Holy Spirit came upon Mary. By that means, the Declaration of Divine wisdom found its substance and reality in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ." It is interesting to note that they call wisdom ‘divine.’ They are saying that divine wisdom became flesh. Is not Jesus, then, divine since He is the incarnation of divinity? They would disagree. But that is what they are saying, though they don’t realize it. If Jesus is not God in flesh, then why is He worshiped (Matt. 2:2; 2:11; 14:33; 28:9; John 9:35-38; Heb. 1:6)? This is especially important since Jesus said that you are to worship God (the Father) only (Matt. 4:10). Yet, Jesus receives worship and never rebukes anyone for it. If Jesus is not God, then why is He called God by Thomas who said to Jesus in John 20:28, "My Lord and my God." not only did Jesus didn’t correct him for his error but he even affirmed it by saying that you tomas belive only because you see (in other words your proffession of my divinity is only because of the fact that you have witnessed it with your own eyes) but blessed are those who believe without seeing.

However even before Tomas's profession of Jesus being God, Christ had been worshed by many as we read in Matthew 8:2 And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, . . . Mathew 9:18 . . . there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, . . . Matthew 15:25 Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me. Matthew 28:9 . . . And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him. Mathew 28:17 And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted. Mark 5:6 . . . he ran and worshipped him .Luke 24:52 And they worshipped him, . . . John 9:38 And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped him. John 20:28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God. See also Matt 20:20 ,14:33, 2:11 Jesus

Jesus is truly worshiped PHILIPPIANS 2:9-11 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: (10) That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of {things} in heaven, and {things} in earth, and {things} under the earth; (11) And {that} every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ {is} Lord, to the glory of God the Father. HEBREWS 1:6 And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him. REVELATION 5:8 . . . the four beasts and four {and} twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints. {cf. Rev 4:10, 7:11} Read Also REVELATION 5:12-14 REVELATION 7:9-12,15-17

Christ is called God by the Apostles in many of the Scriptures we read in Hebrews 1:8.

For to which of the angels did He [God] ever say: "You are My Son, Today I have begotten You"? And again: "I will be to Him a Father, And He shall be to Me a Son"? But when He again brings the firstborn into the world, He says: "Let all the angels of God worship Him." And of the angels He says: "Who makes His angels spirits And His ministers a flame of fire." But to the Son He says: "Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your Kingdom."

Our Lord himself on Many ocations professes his divinity as we read in John 8:58 Jesus says " Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am". When He said, "I AM," He was quoting from the Old Testament in Exodus 3:14. That is where Moses was talking to God and asked Him His name. God answered and said, "I AM." When Jesus said "I AM" He was claiming the name of God for Himself and thereby claiming to be God. Other great men of history point to a philosophy and tried to teach good ideas. Only Jesus pointed to Himself, claimed to be God, and spoke with authority that matched His claim.

It is clear from scripture & the Constant teaching of the Church that the Christadelphians wrong but one would expect this as much like a Child without it's Mother would stray so do these protestant Church's who do not seek the Pillar and Foundation of Truth, The Holy Catholic Church.
