| "I opened a heavy door and found myself in a completely empty stone room with enormous windows on the opposite wall and the side walls. These consisted of rectangular openings in the thick walls, without glass or window frames, and their size was such that they took up the greater part of the wall. Through these three large windows the only things visible were the sea, the horizon, and the blue sky. The turquoise blue of the sea produced in me a deep sense of melancholy. I felt incomplete. Something was missing in my life and whatever it was lay out there in that deep blue. It was like the call of a world that I had not seen but could intuit. I felt this very clearly and this clarity was yearning and melancholy. Tears ran down my face and I realized suddenly: I'm dreaming! This is a dream. My hands! I have to look at my hands! I tried to lift my hands and they seemed very heavy. Through great effort I managed to lift them and then I remembered the other world, the man who was sleeping." | ||||
