Publishers of Islamic Material

There is a wide range of Islamic material available from publishers around the world. These materials range from copies of the Quraan and works of Hadeeth, to scholarly and academic texts and much more. Materials come in a variety of formats, including not only books, newspapers and magazines but video and audio (cassette, CD and DVD). Listed below are some of these publishers, some of whose books are available online. I have also included a list of some online bookstores that sell Islamic material.

A group of concerned Muslims in the United States have drawn up a set of guidelines to help libraries to evaluate holdings of Islamic material. It is stated that local libraries in the United States "shows an alarming deficiency in holdings on Islam, Muslims and Islamic civilization, history and culture. Either there are hardly any books on Islam or they are written by authors who apparently knew little about Islam." To see some of their reccommendations please go to Librarians Guide.
