_When I was on Waheke Island in the gulf outside Auckland there was a party one night at the beach in the yacht club. Some bands were playing and a group of us from the Youth Hostel went down (at the invite of the slightly-mad (but friendly) hippy girl from the local pub) and joined in. _ One of the bands playing was Tadpole who's music you can hear at mp3.com. They are actually quite good and, with a bit of luck, they'll make it big and I'll have a claim to fame at last. _ Another New Zealand band worth considering are Stellar* whose song 'Violent' is pretty good.
