"Enough" and he spoke
The silent howl of one lone wolf
pierces through the night.
While storm clouds clash,
and rain pours down,
and dark skies turn to light.

The birds take refuge in the trees.
The deer all run and hide.
Then lightning strikes an old oak tree,
and splits it open wide.

But carried on a strong Spring wind,
a single sound is heard.
It's not rain, thunder, or a howl,
but one single word.

"Enough"
and he spoke

In scattered towns along a valley,
the earth begins to quake,
and throughout the many towns
houses start to shake.

Pictures on the walls fall down
and dishes start to rattle.
People run to safer ground
afraid to fight the battle.

But carried on the trembling earth,
a single sound is heard.
It's not cries nor screams or even shouts,
but one single word.

"Enough"
and he spoke

In cities small and cities large,
across the many states,
violence grows and crime rates rise,
as people are filled with hate.

Shots are fired, knives are thrust,
and innocent people lie dying.
The loved ones that are left behind
may never stop their crying.

But carried on the city noises,
a single sound is heard.
It's not a shot, or moan, or sob,
but one single word.

"Enough"
and he spoke

Among the beeping of alarms
a child fights for life.
His heart has stopped, his lungs won't work,
his parents are filled with strife.

Neither man, nor machine, nor miracle drugs,
can stop what has taken place.
Everyone grieves for the life that is lost,
as tears run down their face.

But carried on that final breath,
a single sound is heard.
It's not a beep, alarm, or thump,
but one single word.

"Enough"
and he spoke

From the very first day, to the end of time,
his commands we've been taught to obey.
But many fail to follow his rules,
now look where they're at today.

When trumpets flair and Angels sing,
a new heaven we'll behold.
Our faith and prayers will lead us home,
to a city made of gold.

But carried on the lost souls' moans,
a single sound is heard.
It's not a prayer, nor song, nor cry,
but one single word.

"Enough"
and he spoke
