List of sites |
In my fanship of Sorrento, I wanted to
have my own Web Ring, after I had seen the Web Rings for
Classics and for Laura Pausini (not in that order, by the
way). Now I have my Web Ring. The very, only thing that
has to happen is that people join my Web Ring. Are you a fan of Sorrento?
Well, I am. If you have a page about Sorrento, you could
submit it to the Ring. On the bottom of your page there
will be reference to the Ring. People can come over the
Ring to all other sites about Sorrento, even if these
sites are not listed at search engines. I like in my Ring
all sites that are about something that has to do many
with Sorrento, like fan pages, or sites of local
institutions or hotels or anything.
How to join the Ring?
Joining the Ring is quite easy. I will mention the steps
that have to be taken:
- You submit
your site to the WebRing. You have to fill in in
the form all your information and the information
of your site. From the moment your site was
submitted, it was in the Queue for the Web Ring.
- You will receive mail with further instructions,
but I have put this instructions on this page too.
- You put the HTML-fragment
on the bottom of your site.
(don't forget to download the picture for it at:
http://www.oocities.org/Athens/Stage/9407/Sorrento/sorring.jpg
Put it in your homedir - don't steal bandwidth!)
- You mail the RingMaster
(that's me) that you have put the HTML fragment
on your site (don't forget to mention your site
ID, that you got right after the submission, in
your mail).
- The RingMaster reviews the correctness of your
HTMLfragment.
- The RingMaster adds your site to the ring. From
this moment your site is not longer in the Queue,
but really in the Ring.
You see how easy it is? The WebMaster does half of the
work and your job is not very difficult.
Submitting your site
The WebMasters' FAQ does prescribe me that I should put a
submit form on my Ring Home Page (that's this page). I
didn't. I have made an apart site for it. You can see and
use it here.
HTML fragment
The HTML fragment is the piece of HTML language, that you
can change your site with so that everyone can see that
you are in the Ring. People can come with this from the
one ring site to the other. When you put it on your site,
it should look like below on this page. You can do it
with FrontPage, or any other advanced HTML editor.
Questions about it? Mail me at tbmosa@hotmail.com.
I put the sample of the HTML fragment on another
page.
Edit the information of
your site in the Ring
If you want to edit the information of your site in the
ring you should go to:
http://edit.webring.org/cgi-bin/webring?ring=sorrento;edit
For problems you can always mail me.
Aim of the Ring
An aim of the Ring is to inform
people about Sorrento: fans or people who plan to go to
Sorrento or whoever. Another aim is to get people
interested about Sorrento. Maybe they would like to come
after they have seen some sites?
Finally
Finally, I would like to tell something about myself. I
am a fan of Sorrento since I visited it in 1996 on a trip
to Italy. I have had a fabulous time there, I everyone
would like it over there, because there is so much to do.
For the rest, watch or even join the Ring!
