J.S. Bach's influence on Nick Drake
An example of how Johann Sebastian Bach influenced Nick Drake's music.
Many modern artists have been influenced by classical music in composing their own music. A Whiter Shade Of Pale by Procul Harum is based on Bach's Air on a G String and Pachebel's Canon in D has been plundered by many, most blatantly perhaps by Oasis with their Don't Look Back in Anger.

When Nick died, a copy of Bach's Brandenburg Concertos was on his record player so we know he appreciated Bach. One of the last 4 tracks that Nick recorded before he died was Black Eyed Dog which has a striking resemblance to J.S. Bach's Suite in E Major - Preludio.
