                                  The Next Matt Dillon

Feeling less than fresh after a five hour from his home city of Minneapolis, Josh Hartnett lopes out to the pool and, while in the mid-conversation, dunks his head into the water. Shaking himself off, like a lovable pooch, he lets the Californian sunshine dry his hair back into its trademark tuffs. The 20-year-old talent, who played Jamie Lee curtis's son in Halloween H:20 , recently wrapped Town and Country, playing Warren Beatty's son, and also stars with Kathleen Turner and James woods in Virgin Suicides - both out later this year. Not bad for someone who made his tv debut sitting on a toilet in the US version of Cracker.

You can see him next in The Faculty (out in April), where he's busy fighting alien teachers with fellow Hollywood cuties Shawn Hatosy and Usher. playing Zeke, Josh gets the coolest scene (check out the paper-slicer moment) and deals a lot of dodgy drugs. In reality, he's just into cigarettes, having given up drinking for six months. He's not quite reached monk status though, he is currently single. "I'm looking forward to the excitement that comes with sharing your life with one person, instead of throwing it all out to the wind or keeping it all to yourself," he smiles, stretching out his 6ft 4in frame. "But I couldn't handle it at this point, I'm too immature."

Au contraire, Josh seems wise for his years and is affectionately tactile. "You know what? I'm really attracted to British women," he whispers. "There's something innately proper about them. However badly they behave their accent is so cute that it makes up for everything!"
