H20's Josh Hartnett can't take the horror

HOLLYWOOD -- As Jamie Lee Curtis' son in Halloween H20, Josh Hartnett may seem brave and confident, but he admits in real life horror movies frighten him.

"Ever since Poltergeist terrified me when I was 12, I can't watch horror films," he says. "I'm a real wuss."

That's doubly ironic because right after Halloween H20, Hartnett films another teen horror flick, The Faculty, about a school whose teachers might be alien body snatchers.

"It's not scary to make a horror film because you get to pull back the curtain and see that none of

it's real. When you're watching one, the terror bombards you."

Hartnett, 20, played Robert Pastorelli's son on the ill-fated TV series Cracker.

"We made 16 episodes of Cracker and I loved doing the show, but unfortunately no one was watching us."

Hartnett is in Toronto filming Virgin Suicides, a drama set in the '70s starring Kirsten Dunst, Kathleen Turner and James Woods.
