TIME'S CHILDREN

I'm Yesterday's Child, I dwell in the Past.
I yearn for history, for the shadows we've cast.
My eyes are set on the years of yore;
when others look forward,
I look before.

I'm Tomorrow's Child, I've no time to waste.
I live for the future, more hurry, less haste.
My heart is set on the fresh and the new;
Alas the old is quite fickle,
 The morrow is true.

I'm Today's Child, I live for the present,
I care not for the future, I do not like guessing.
The past has happened, it's over, done, through.
I keep my eyes on the ground;
I watch my own shoes.

Time keeps us running,
watch carefully or you'll fall,
Future, Past and Present, it affects us one and all.
Each in its own aspect will help us on our way,
Live for the moment, be it
Today, Tomorrow, Yesterday.
