About the Artist
Aura Ramirez, graduated from the Art School of the University of the Andes in Mérida, Venezuela, presents in her work a clear influence of Naďf art.
The initial inspiration of her painting comes form the Venezuelan Andes, with her original style she expresses the traditional life of the Venezuelan Andean regions. Additionally, the Venezuelan Caribbean beaches and the Caracas’ popular neighborhoods have also been a fount of inspiration for her painting.
As a result of her artistic evolution and while keeping her folksy way of art, Aura has made some painting about the historical United States South, taking advantage of the environment that surrounds her new residence in South Carolina.
