OAV The OAVs, or Original Animation Videos, for Magic Knight Rayearth (which are simply known as Rayearth), differ from both the anime and manga (which are interchangable, for the most part); and as such, Lantis' character changes somewhat as well. Description: Lantis looks pretty much the same as he does in the anime and manga (short black hair, with a gold band around his forehead), except that his eyes are definately blue, like they're supposed to be in the manga; in the manga, Eagle describes Lantis' eyes as blue as Cephiro's sky. (In the anime, they look more greyish, or even violet-coloured, like Zagato's.) Costume: Black and white clothing (rather than the dark armour he wears in the manga and anime), with simple gold edging; accented with the usual light blue jewels. Companion: Unlike the anime or manga, Lantis' animal familliar in the OAVs is a spirit wolf; also, Lantis is not accompanied by Primera in the OAVs (she only appears in a brief cameo, during a flashback about Cephiro). Weapon: Another difference in the OAVs is that Lantis does not wield his trademark laser sword; he just carries a normal one.
