Rules and other info
AWE High Point Rules
1. Points are open to WPCSA, USAEq, CDE, USEA, OHA, NWHC, WSH, Open, Schooling, Pony Club, and 4 –H Shows. (Special awards, please read on)
2. Multiple Points will be awarded according to the type of Show. Schooling shows are single points, WPCSA Bronze and Silver Shows are double points, and WPCSA Gold shows and other Breed or organization shows are triple points. (See above organization for shows)
3.Forms must be received 30 days after the show or points will not count.
Halter
1. Halter points are accumulated through placings of first through fifth, Jr. and Sr. championships, Grand championships, and Supreme championships. Also Open breed champions. 1/2 Welsh is all together (Colts, fillies, mares, stallions and geldings).
Oregon Breeders Cup (Special Award)
Elizabeth McCandless of Woodridge Acres sponsors this perpetual Trophy. The trophy is a large sterling silver wine cooler, awarded annually to the purebred registered Welsh who as amassed the largest number of halter points in a year. Welsh Shows, open pony classes at fairs and open shows will all count. Owner of the Pony must be a member of AWE at the time the points are submitted. A signature of the Show Secretary is in need for points to qualify for this award.
Performance
High Point Adult, intermediate, and Junior Rider
This award goes to the highest point earning adult, intermediate, and junior rider. Points can be accumulated in flat classes, pleasure classes, over fences classes, trail, stock seat, and equitation classes. Adult - 21 and over, Intermediate - 14-20, Junior - 13 and under
High Point Driving Welsh
This award is for the pony who accumulates the most points under harness. Classes
include CDES, Pleasure Driving, Carriage Driving, obstacle, and reinmanship classes.
High Point Dressage Welsh
This award is Sponsored by WishBroke Welsh Ponies & Cobs . It is for the Welsh or 1/2 Welsh who averages the highest average Dressage Score. Classes in Schooling shows and USDF rated shows apply. You must supply a copy of the test for the percentage to count.
Rules for participation for the Winterlake High Point Awards (Special Awards)
Winterlake Welsh Cob Farm would like to encourage the promotion of the Welsh breed and reward excellence in that endeavor. Points will be earned using the scale of the AWE High Point System, which adjusts according to the number of entries. To qualify, AWE members must show a registered Welsh pony, cob, or half Welsh, and points must be submitted within 30 days on an AWE point sheet.
1. Winterlake Open Competition High Point: presented to the AWE member-owned animal who accumulates the most number of points in open shows not to include Welsh breed shows. (Points from Welsh classes at open shows, county fairs, schooling dressage, jumping, and other kinds of shows open to a variety of breeds.) Shows that are available to all members will count (4-H, for example, will not count). The animal may be shown by more than one person.
2. Winterlake Youth High Point: presented to an AWE member under 18 years of age who accumulates the highest number of points through out the show season. The member may shown more than one animal. Points will count from halter and showmanship classes as well as all performance classes. Show points from 4-H, Pony Club, open shows (including schooling shows), breed shows, OHA, NWHC, USAEq, , as well as specialty shows such as dressage, hunter/jumper, combined driving and eventing will count.
