8期生の郊外研修旅行 |
Penang, Malaysia

| Day 2 Sightseeing Georgetown was our plan for the morning. Botanical Garden... Thai temple... Myanmar temple...Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion... Khoo Kongsi... Hawker food for lunch... and ended the tour with some coconut drink by the street before returning to the hotel for our forever-classic game of "WATERMELON"!!! For all AYFers, you know absolutely what it is, huh? Too bad we won't get into details of all the tricks and what we exactly did because we don't want to spoil the fun of our kohai (in case they are reading this article right now.) But despite that, with all the pride that we have, we would like to announce that all 3 teams competing for these watermelons were awfully good! Pum (group C) was the first to go. He had a really bad start since he could barely walk straight! (Big owe to Konta-san!) But he picked it up along the way and accomplished the mission. Phao (group B) was the second and he was awesome!! Min (group A) was the last and took the longest. But who cared? At the end he also got it right the way we wanted!

After a little rest, we were back gathering again in the conference
hall for the long-awaited "first-time-ever-all-in-Japanese"
performances. It was actually not only the first time in
Japanese we did it, but the first time ever to do any performance of
any sort for most of us also. But even with that, everything
came out rather impressive. Group C went first with the
title of "The Future of 8th Batch friends", a rather
smile-inducing piece of performance that 'predict' the future lives of
our batchmates based on our present personalities and characteristics
generally observed. It is then followed by Group B under
the "The love of Sakura-chan" theme, a dramatic story
of a poor little(?) girl named Sakura who never knew what love was all
about. A romantic (?) comedy (?) and a touching story of what love can
do. Group A presented "Cindy", a
Japanese adapted version of 'Cinderella', still holding full casts of
deprived Cindy, the witched step mother and sister, sweet angel and
breathe-taking prince. The performance session ended with Sensei
and AYF Staff's performance on a Japanese folktale called "Momotaro",
a little boy who was born from the plum fruit. Before we called
the night off, we had a surprised birthday celebration for Trang
and Tangin, whose birthdays fall on the month of June.
Yummy green tea cake! :9
