Dear Letters Editor: Libertarians support only voluntary action and oppose the use of force except in defense of life, liberty or property, so we oppose all involuntary registry or compensation, including domestic partner registries and employee benefits. A marriage is between the couple, their relatives, friends and the arbitrators contracted to enforce the marriage contract. There is no reason for government to be involved. With regard to government employees, the solution is equally as simple. Eliminate all benefits, or at least limit them to the employee. Benefits should not be a function of marriage or the number of family members. That's unfair to single employees. Sincerely, Bill Holmes, Vice Chair Antelope Valley Libertarian Party P.O.
