| Now that the public menace Martha Stewart will be safely behind bars, we should set our sights on bigger game, I mean, if it's a major crime for us to lie to the Government, then it's only fair that those who govern us should be held to the same standard. So, I propose that every lying politician, prevaricating prosecutor, plausibly-denying bureaucrat and truth-bending officer be subject to citizens' arrest for the crime of lying to the public. Think of how busy the courts will be! The prison industry will thrive as never before. I suggest we start with the big fibber who dreamt up all those WMDs. --Richard P. Huemer, MD |
