Story of the Candy Cane
A candy maker in Indiana wanted to use his craft to honor
Lord in a special way.

He decided that instead of making it soft and chewy like taffy or chocolate he would make it hard to represent the firm foundarion of Gods' promises to His church.

He made the candy white so that it would symbolize His virgin
birth and sinless nature.

He added small red stripes and alternated them with large
ones. The small ones represented the beatings Jesus suffered on
His way to cross and reminds us that "by His stripes we are
healed". The large stripes portray the blood He shed by dying on the cross ofr our sins.

Many people just think that the candy cane is a bright, happy
decoration we use at Christmas time, but every time you see one
from now on,just remember the sixteenth verse from the third
chapter of the book to John in the Bible:

"For God so loved the world that He gave His
                       only-begotten son,so that whosoever believes
in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."
                                                                            John 3:16
