When I first saw Mobile Suit Gundam Wing, I thought it was pretty confusing. But as you watch it more and you'll get the plot and maybe you'll start to like it. So here's the "general" storyline: It's the future and people have already created colonies in outerspace. Travel between the Earth and outerspace is now relatively easy. Our heroes are 5 young guys -Gundam Pilots- who have put their hearts and souls in help defending the colonies of Earth against peoples of other Nations (especially a certain group who believes in creating more weapons of destruction and increasing military power. But now times have changed and the people that our heroes are protecting have different views. The Gundam Pilots are now viewed as rebels-outlaws whose only purpose is to cause trouble among the nations. The guys find themselves in an awkward position. Their Gundams are wanted by everyone. Some want the pilots killed. Some want them as prisoners. Others want to use them as test subjects for research on the new Gundams. And some powerful forces from Oz have decided to make the killing of the pilots and retrieving the Gundams as their #1 priority... so what are our heroes to do, except fight back?! So mainly, what is happening is that there's a war between several factions. The Gundam pilots find themselves in the middle of this dispute and quickly choose sides as they try to help maintain peace while defending the Earth at the same time.

Our main heroes are a special elite group of Gundam Wing pilots. They are all teens and amazingly enough, have great power when piloting a Gundam Wing. Heero Yuy, our main character, is very serious and, at times, cold and rude.  He is the ultimate pilot: the perfect soldier. He does not seem to hold any strong feelings with other members of the group, but that is probably because of his "soldiered" and trained childhood. (In other words, he's psychologically messed-up). Quatre, the gentlemen of the group, is good-natured and sweet. He takes time to appreciate what's in front of him (like the Earth and mother nature) and prefers peace over violence. Our comic relief is Duo Maxwell, who is outspoken (do-something, think-later) type of guy. Woo Fei is calm and full of composure. He is always in control of himself and sometimes meditates. And last but not least, Trowa Barton. If you're looking for any female characters, I guess the main one would be Relena Peacecraft, the new head of the blah faction. She, like Quatre, is in favor of peace. Relena holds a special interest in Heero, even though he tried to kill her a couple of times. Some of her classmates thinks her relationship with Heero is very unhealthy. And at first, I thought so too. But I think her interest in him help brings out the human side in him. So although it may be unhealthy for Relena, it isn't for Heero.

Okay, time to get out the red pen!  The intro and concluding music are pretty okay. It's not super-wonderful, but it doesn't suck either. The animation was way better than the usual anime shows...unique style and nice hair designs, but not wow-WOW. Don't argue with me on this category! Yes, the gundams are very cool looking (if you're into that kind of stuff)...But I find myself seeing mechas everywhere now-a-days. I guess it's the age of mechas as it is computers and technology, so it's not so surprising. :P I watched the dubbed version and was delighted to hear voices that actually fit the characters. Not too high and not too low. Heero's voice is a bit low but that is fine with me.   The plot was confusing at first when you watch it-but it got less so when you watch it some more. (It took me several episodes to at least get the idea of what was going on ^_^*) I don't know about the rest of you, but sometimes I find some of the episodes depressing. Does anyone think so too? Anyway, overall the show is a "B". Oh yeah, what's the deal with Heero and Relena? Why does everyone hate her?
