The Mystic Stables
HERD OF THE RISING SUN
As you step down into the cavern, following the signs on the wall past twists and turns through an obsidian hall, hoofbeats can be heard in the distance, echoing towards you. You enter a large cavern, completely underground. It is dark, dim, with the only light coming in a golden glow from little points inside to rock. This glimmer puts a light gold coating over everything. The grass under your feet is pure black, but suupple and alive under your feet. Unicorns roam the plain of waving grass that seems to be an aurora in the golden glow. The unicorn callop over the bouncy grass, keeping at a safe distance, but not truely afraid of you. You notice many different colors, all the colors of the rainblow. Colts and adults run together or play on their own.
| A curious little black colt is walking tenatively toward you. He is nervous, flicking his tail as you extend your hand toward him. Just as you are about to touch his muzzle, an adult comes over and puts herself between the colt and your hand. You draw back in surprise and a little fear, but the unicorn doesn't want to hurt you, she was just protecting her young one. |

"Ello," she says in thickly accented English. A lisp, maybe, but what can you expect from a talking unicorn. She whispers into the little colt's ear and he happily scampers away toward the other side of the cave. The white adult continues, "That was Darqfire, our newest colt. He is my son - mine and Flareflint's - and can be very mischhievious. Welcome to the Cavern Of The Rising Sun. The Sun Unicorns live here. I know it may sound odd to have Sun Unicorns in a place where there is no sun, but that is why we had to come here. We share a flaw in our genes that makes any drect sunlight burn us very badly. We could not stay in our original homes on the Sun Plains, so we came here, where we were given this beautiful Aurora Cavern to live in. We are all happy here! Come with me, I'll introduce you to the other Unicorn Families! |
| This is Flareflint, my lifemate. We've known each other all our lives, but were just recently married. We had a child before we were officially married, another reason we were forced to leve the Plains. But, we love one another, and together we watch over all the Unicorns of this cavern! |

| These two females are Transel, the adult, and her daughter, Mystic Nite. Transel's husband did not have the genetic flaw and was the leader of their clan, so he could not come with them. They stay in touch and send each other messages by carrier pigeon. They miss him very much. Mayble soon he'll be able to join them here - if ever he retires from such an important position in his tribe. Until then, these two are here alone, but they aren't realy alone, they have lots of friends! |
Here is the other family in the Caverns. The Cloud male is Slailen, the father and leader of the group. He was an underling of his tribe, constantly picked on...until he married Neo, the green rainbow daughter of the chief! They are very godd together - a lot of respect and love. They have two kids, Eisne, a baby blue girl, and Ares, the firey-haired male. A truely happy family!
Light still shines from behind the opening into the Sunless cavern with its odd contrasting name. The only way out is to head back out into the bright light of the Miscellania Meadows.....
