Hatching Story

This story was written by Angelina for the hatching of clutches #30, 31, 32, and a special hatching of Halloween triplet Dragons at Dragonskies Adoptions! This was when little Ryanlyn hatched! This hatching took place on the 30th day of October in the 1998th year of our era.

Angelina was glad to have Colbaar and Avlyn with her on the Sands for this special day. The normally stoic red dragon was full of barely contained excitement and kept glancing at his mate, who also anticipated today's surprise arrivals. As Diana joined her with her own brood of bondmates, Angelina smiled in relief. "We have enough applicants, I think, for all the eggs, and some of those will leave with a little something extra." This was said with a bit of mischief, for even Diana didn't know what the surprise dragons would be other than they were adult triplets.

The eggs protected by brown Prestaar and his orange mate, Aralyn, began to rock, drawing everyone's attention. The first broke open, revealing a tiny orange who toddled over to her father and Kristan. The second egg spilled her brown brother to the sands, and he scrambled to his feet and choose to stay with his mother and Amarandath. A second brown hatched, sniffing through an entire group of applicants before finally deciding on Emma. The last egg burst into little shards of shell and an excited green sat amidst the rubble for a moment before choosing Leila.

Blue Bilmaar and Green Shaelyn watched proudly as their first egg hatched, a small purple emerging and going straight to his father and Skysong. The next egg revealed an orange, who was gathered up happily by Wild. Her brown brother chose Anicyn826, and their tiny orange sister cuddled up to her mother and Shannon. The largest egg broke open, with a disgruntled looking red falling to the sands. He shook himself as he stood and picked through many of the applicants before choosing Leila. Another egg split cleanly in two, a surprised looking blue sitting between the halves. Tia rushed forward and gathered him to her. The last egg rolled about wildly before shattering, and the dazed green emerged to choose Eloise.

Gervaar and Gawlyn watched in amusement as two eggs hatched to reveal a pink and a purple, who ran into each other clumsily before finding their bondmates. Tanya cuddled the purple, soothing his wounded baby pride, and Rasilvenaira held the pink to her lovingly. The smallest egg revealed a tiny brown and he toddled quickly to Michelle. The last egg splintered, and the haughty green who emerged walked carefully over the sands to stand with her father and Azrielen.

Colbaar bugled to get everyone's attention. His deep baritone boomed over the sands. "If everyone would look to the doorway, one of our triplets has chosen to reveal himself and tell who was deemed worthy of bonding them." As everyone's attention turned to the door, the most interesting site greeted them.

"I am Obraar, a special ghost dragon. We only emerge at Halloween to bond those who create special homes for us. I shall reside with Czrykathon. My brother, Qyazzaar, has chosen Kelle, and our sister, Mycalyn, will live with Skysong." With that announcement, he turns and leaves, waiting his bondmate and the other chosen ones to follow.

Angelina turns to Diana with a relieved smile. "Once again, all have homes!"
