A Sun-Dappled Glade
        Lands Of The Shi Dasorot

The deep gold rays of sun fall all around you as you enter this second Glade slowly and carefully, a little worried that another Dasorot withh pop out of the bushes to pounce on you as Dekass' did! But you find no such bouncy inhabitant here. Instead, the Dasorot you find is different that those you've met or heard about. He carries a brooding demeanor that kakes it seem that a perpetual raincloud is settled over him. But he is not sad, perhaps, but only solemn. The slight difference is in his eyes. Their Oriental slant gives him a slightly angered appearance as he finally notices you, but his body language as he slowly walks toward you gives of no impression of true anger. He holds his head up, stately and at the same time, overpoweringly mysterious. His deep blue and grey coloring makes him seem like a rolling waze of stormy waters headed toward you at a steady, easy pace. There is something in him that make you think of rainclouds and thunder with their streaks of hot electric lightning. His eyes glitter up at you and you realize that he is right in from of you. Immediately, he is in charge of the situation, dominating you and attracting all of your attention as he makes his introduction....

"I am Akebono, last son of the Kaiki-Negai troop. I am what is called a Shi Dasorot, the Oriental subspecies." He finishes and stands silently as you make you slightly shaky introduction, then he proceeds to speak on his people and himself as he walks along with you through the trees surrounding the Glade. "I have become guardian of the realm only recently. Azrielen-San has won me in a battle or skill between her and many others. I was not the first place prize, but the second, my sister Hakujitsu being the grandest prize. But Azrielen has taken me under her wing and I am her loyal follower in her task of caring for these lands and creatures." You ask tenatively about his origins and he stops, thinking rapidly before answering. "We of the Shi live a very different life from that of the Tulp. Dekas', my neighbor to the east, is a Tulp Dasorot. Our two kinds do get along well, but few Tulp and SHi form close relationships. Azrielen-San seems bent on fixing Dekas' and I up with one another."

He smiles a little and rolls his eyes, giving an exasperated sigh. "As I've said, I am the last son of the Kaiki-Negai SHi Troop, and my sister is the last daughter of the troop. We are the last of our line if we do not mate and produce children of our bloodlines. Perhaps that is the reason for Azrielen-San's persistance. You see, Shi mares are the dominant figures in our society, unlike Tulp Dasorots, who put the stallions in as leaders. Shi mares often have herds of males. This is why the population of the Shi is so low. But do not fear for my kind. We are not fragile beasts, we Shi, and we will long survive others that perish easily. Now, travellor, it has been wondrous speaking with you, as I am new here and have few friends, but I must go and visit with Dekas'. There are things to discuss that must not wait any longer...." With that, her leads you toward the pathway from which you entered the Glade, you walk having taken you around the perimeter of the stallion's home and back to your starting point. You bid the exotic creature farewell and watch as he leaves through another opening in the vines, heading Eastward, before you turn and make your own way out.
