The "Up Dragon" Weyr

Here we have a nice little group of dragons called "Up Dragons" by their hatcher, Dee. Matbe she named this particular species that because of their way of flying very straight and upright. I think they fly that way just to keep their long tails in check! These first two are the high-class couple in the four-dragon clan that lives here. These dragons normally do live in small packs of four to ten. The black is the Prime Leader, QualiKa. He was named after the second moon of the planet Mictlan. Mictlan is a fictional world created in one of my favorite books, Dark Water's Embrace. Read it! All the dragons have their names taken from there. The golf Prime female is DekTa, the female form of the name of a great Miccail leader. She is determined and willful, often taking full head of the clan if QualiKa has to leave or is sick. The other two, lesser dragons are here as well.

Here they are! They are red male BieTe and his female mate MasTa. Their names come from the names of Elder Miccail in the book. Their names all represent their stature. The longer the name, the higher a class they were born in. Three of those here were born to the lowest class, though DekTa mated up two levels, something that does not happen often. QualikKa has a full two letters on all the others - he was born to the highest "Up Dragon" caste. But, even with the differences, there is very little fighting in this clan. Perhaps some of this is out of neccessity, for Azrielen has told them that if their fighting becomes excessive, they will be asked to leave. This is their home, and to leave may very well mean death by poachers, so wish them the best and bid them much peace! Thanks for the visit!
