Another darkened cavern unfolds before you as you leave the little antichamber and the hallway behind. It is a sarry blackness, you can see stars through tall, slitted windows on the other side of the large cavern. In this light, you see a roundish shape laying in the very center of the room. On closer inspection, it's an egg! A small sign stuck in the sand next to it reads, in three different languages cavred into the smooth wood: Hello, fair traveler. Welcome to New Beginnings CyberShelter! This cave you have entered is a sacred and guarded place, so be careful, my friend. The egg here is that of a Pyronas dragon, given for care to Azrielen on a special occasion of celebration only referred to as The Day. Please do not touch the egg, it is still hardening and this egg is particularly sensitive to touch. You could easily damage the growing baby dragon if you move the egg even slightly. It shall hatch soon, and I implore you, do come visit the dragon as it grows! Thanks, Management. You heed the warning of the sign and do not touch the egg, only looking on as it rocks slightly every few seconds. It is more like a short spasm, as if the baby were shivering inside its shell. Ever so gently, you scoop some of the warm sand off the floor and pile it against the side of the egg, careful not to move it. Slowly, the spasms fade, though it could not be from your efforts, or at least that is what you tell yourself. Raising and turning slowly, you leave the cavern with a warm feeling all over you, as if the sand of the cavern were still under you... |
