A brightly lit cavern assaults you senses as you move past the rocky entrance tunnel. Many torches, lining the walls in a rings, fill the room with a reddish light that reflects off of the black rock walls and shiney white gravel floor. On the other end of the cavern, a large dune of sand has been ammassed, and on the very top of it, you can see and egg poking through the surface. The egg bumps and shivers, jiggling the sand from the top of it in little watterfalls, uncovering its spotted curves. Its smooth shell reflects the two torchs closest to it, bouncing the colors and waving flames back to your eyes, making you blink at the glare. The egg is a deep purple, sharply contrasting the beige glint of sand around it. You reach the dunes and kneel down to better see the egg, sand enveloping your hands up to the wrists as you put your weight on the soft dune. You uncover one hand and reach out to brush the sand from the egg's hard shell, making it all the more shiny. You begin to recognize the egg's contures as it is uncovered, the soft gleam of the shell becoming slightly familiar. It is a Genlihin Lizard Egg! You've seen Genlihins before, but you find it hard to remember where exactly. Oh, well...it is very pretty. Slowly, you replace the sand, adding more to further warm the eggie, careful not to further disturb it. You push yourself up, struggling slightly in the sand, and then notice a tiny gold plaque above the sand dune, inscribed with the words "A Gift Of DragonFlight Origin." The little one must have been given to its bonder as a resent! Content, you walk slowly out of the glowing cavern, feeling its reverbrating warmth on your back and hearing the echo of sputtering flames as you leave, promising yourself that one day you will return to see the Genlihin as it grows.... |
