These two are awfully ferocious, but cute none the less. They are Qalyn, the gold, and Mitmos, the bronze. They are Watch-wheyrs, bred to guard hold from invaders of any kind. They are fairly intelligent, but dumb compaired to dragons. Wheyrs were a genetic fluke - a mistake made by Kitt Ping, the geneticist who created dragons on Pern. In her attempted to smooth out and enlarge the faceted eyes of dragons, she made a mistake, producin Watch-wheyrs. They turned out as dumb animals, very wild and quick-tempered. Their eyes were smoothed, but became duller and smaller. They lost size, growing at most to the size of a St. Bernard. But, despite their outcast status, these two have found good homes here!
