AIRIANELL & RIDER ALTHNE
![]() |
RIDER: Althne NAME: Airianell MEANING: Of The Sky SHORTENED: Air, 'Nell AGE: Adult COLOR: Very Light Gold GENDER: Female SPECIES: Dragon TYPE: CeltDragon SIRE: Unknown DAME: Unknown MATE: Not Yet OFFSPRING: None She is a socialite through and through. She's quiet and enjoys company and thinks "nice vampires" are "cool". Nothing seems to faze her, and she can take the most amazing things in stride and is able to handle any situation. She does need company, however, because she has a strong dislike for being alone. Whenever she is alone (Very much against her will) her abilities of problem solving are halved. Together, they'll both be strong, and happy, and never lonely. |
You enter a shadowy weyr, with only one mote of light glowing in the dimness, a hulk of what seems a light golden statue, or a rock. As you approach it, it purrs and rolls over. It's as big as an Easter Island statue, but very delicate-looking. The big animal senses you as you more closer and sits up, letting out a frightened bellow that hurts your ears . It looks away nervously at the shadows in a corner and then seems to call with little trills and squeeks to the blackness itself. Only when a woman steps out of the shadows do you realized the dragon was actually calling to a person, its rider.
The woman is lovely, with skin a glowing white, like Ivory. Her eyes are glowing orbs of color beneath dark, lush brows. Her figure is obscured by a heavy robe, but underneath there is a hint of a thin, curved form. She moves gracefully and silently towards you and smiles. It is then that you notice her teeth, and are speechless -- she's a vampiress!
Don't be alarmed, wanderer. I am Althne, rider of Golden Airianell, a CeltDragon. Sometimes little Airianell gets frightened around people she has not yet been introduced to." Her voice is eternal, like liquid. "Oh, you were noticing my teeth...yes, I am a vampiress, but don't be afraid. I don't drink human, or dragon, blood. I really haven't needed blood in over a century..."
She goes on to tell you about the hatching of the gold dragon Airianell, who has just recently graduated Weyrling training to reach full adult status! She gently strokes the dragons eye ridges, gently soothing the mammoth creature to sleep as she tells you. She speaks of how she was woken up at three o'clock in the morning to attend the hatching. She explains that she is old enough to withstand the deadly effects of sunlight that kill younger vampires. The hatching went perfectly, each candidate getting a dragon. But, there was one egg left, thought to be a dud, that hatched as they were leaving. Duncan, a cleaning boy at the Weyr, ended up reluctantly accepting the dragon -- and it was FEMALE! You laugh at this for several long moments before you say you must move on. The hulking dragoness snores and Althne waves as you leave them alone again, wrapped in silence and love for each other.
