Calmsite This is the 3rd interview Behind The Veil does with Calmsite and we are extremely happy seeing this great and much promising band releasing its debut album. "The Erector" is here to enthrall and amaze you. All you have to do is grab the cd, play it and read this interview... 1.CONGRATULATIONS FOR "THE ERECTOR". IT'S A GREAT ALBUM! Thank You. Were glad that you like it. 2.SO, WHAT HAPPENED TO CALMSITE FROM THE RELEASE OF YOUR PREVIOUS DEMO TILL NOW? Well, we signed a record deal with Oak-Knoll Productions(USA) and recorded a album which is out now. And we have done some gigs also. 3.IF I ASKED YOU TO PRESENT THE ALBUM YOURSELVES TO THE READERS, WHAT WOULD YOU TELL THEM? CAN YOU GIVE US SOME INFO ABOUT IT? WHERE WAS IT RECORDED? WHO WAS THE PRODUCER? ARE YOU FULLY SATISFIED WITH THE RESULT? It was recorded here in Finland at Cursed studios and producer of it album was Jani Loikas. Well, I guess you can't always be 100% satisfied with the result, but the album turned out ok.... 4."THE ERECTOR" CONTAINS SONGS FROM YOUR PREVIOUS DEMOS. SO, HAVE YOU CHANGED THEM AT ALL? HAVE YOU ALTERED THE COMPOSITIONS OR THE ARRANGEMENTS OR ANYTHING OR DID YOU LEAVE THEM AS THEY WERE? We changed some songs a little bit and some songs we left as they were. 5.HOW WAS THIS COLLABORATION WITH OAK KNOLL PRODUCTIONS FROM THE U.S. ACHIEVED? WITH WHAT CRITERIA DID YOU DECIDE TO SIGN WITH THEM? HAVE YOU SET ANY TARGETS? We sended Oak-Knoll Productions a promo cd and they were interested of co-operation. We had a couple other offers from labels, but Oak-Knoll turned out be the best option. We have some targets set for future...some gigs and more releases... 6.DO YOU HAVE ANY PLANS FOR LIVE SHOWS OR A TOUR? WHAT WILL FOLLOW UP AFTER THE RELEASE OF "THE ERECTOR"? No tours planned at the moment, but we have some gigs coming up. We 're writing and rehearsing some new material at the moment. Hopefully going to release some new stuff next year. 7.LET'S SUPPOSE THAT SUDDENLY ONE DAY ELECTRICITY CEASED TO EXIST... WHAT DO YOU THINK WOULD HAPPEN TO HEAVY METAL MUSIC? COULD YOU REPRODUCE YOUR MUSIC IN AN ACOUSTIC WAY IF YOU'VE BEEN ASKED TO? Sure, we could do some acoustic stuff and that would sound like heavy metal. But what would happen to Heavy Metal...I dont know. 8.WHICH WORDS DO YOU THINK CAN DESCRIBE YOUR MUSIC IN THE BEST POSSIBLE WAY? WHICH PHRASE CAN SUM UP IDEALLY THE WHOLE CALMSITE HISTORY? Our music is like twisted guns n roses. Rock mixed with heavy metal. Sum up CS history..that's a hard question.
