Independent Role Plays

Independent RPs are RPs that don't include more than one main character, but the RP is needed to make a point stand. These are personal events, usually a time when a character does something on their own that doesn't include other people to RP. The ones I do I tend to sometimes do out of pure boredom, but there is always a reason to do them. Plus, they are needed for thorough character developement

::Azura is found, early in the morning, wandering around her house, opening cupboards and closing them, packing a small saddlebag in the middle of the room. She opens her closet trunk and grabs her long ankle length jacket from it, throwing it on over her back. Pulls the back flaps up over her shoulders and pushes her wings through, then throwing the flaps back, to cover her wings. She closes the closet, and shuts all the windows, waving animals out so they are not shut inside while she is away. She walks to her bed trunk, collecting some growing lavender from inside it before closing it. She shoves it in a small glass jar, and puts the jar in a bag. She picks up the bag, as it clanks, several other small jars inside, and picks up the saddle bag, throwing it over her shoulder. She opens the door, but stops before she walks out, viewing the room before she leaves in reassurance. She purses her lips then walks out, shutting the door and locking it before she leaves.::

::She actually walks down the staircase instead of flying and stops by the edge of the forest before she walks in, a little unsure, but she goes through with her idea and walks into it, still carrying the two bags. She walks through the forest, over nurse logs, around trees, and under lowered branches. She eventually meets up where the forest loosens into a clearing, a large spread of tall yellow grass about 50 feet acrossed. She continues in, struggling along the way, pulling the bags and stops when she meet a sudden area where the grass is cut short. She stops and looks, seeing some weeds have grown over time, but the area is still clear, as if it was always that way.::

::She sets down the bags and walks forward to the mushroom circle and steps inside, and kneels to her knees, staring at the ground before putting her hands together, her fingers intwined. She closes her eyes and directs her head to the earth, speaking outloud.::

From one to another; I speak to the souls of the trees that were once here, but have vanished with the Coming of Age. I speak to the souls of the trees; the souls of the Wood Sprites; to the souls of my extended family. I ask for your guidence, your protection, and most of all..-

::Opens her eyes and looks around, hearing something. She sees an approaching deer of some kind, and rises to see it, as it oddly wanders closer and stops, smelling the bags and nibbling on them. Azura smiles and walks closer, stepping outside of the mushroom ring and touching the elk on the head between the horns. It lifts its head and smells her, then bending its head down, startling her as it points its horns at her. She smiles and rolls her eyes as she grazes her fingers over them, searching anything wrong with them, pulling out a couple sticks stuck in the tangle of his horns. She sighs and picks up the bags and puts the saddle bag over his back, and the strap to the jar bag over her head so it rides on her hip. She takes a harness tied to the saddlebag and removes it, moving to the elk's head and putting it on slowly and securely. She throws the reigns over his head. Azura pets the elk and strokes his nose::

You are right, Weadowmark. There is no reason to stall. ::Smirks:: Shall we go?

::The elk bends its head to the ground, its long neck stretching up to its 5 foot tall body. Azura grabs ahold of his horns and the elk raises its head, lifting Azura off the ground as she swings her body over his neck and slides down onto the saddle. She adjusts to be seated on his back for the travel, and takes up the reigns in her hands. She pats Weadowmark on the side of the neck, and pinches his sides with her legs as he heads forward, around the mushroom circle and out into the field. As they soon reach the edge of the forest again, Weadowmark gets faster and runs through the forest. They soon exit the forest, a mountain range with foothills before them and engage on their three day journey.::

::Azura and Weadowmark continues along the terrain and slow down as they approach the mountain, and the journey slows down as they stop for the night before the mountain, and then awake the next morning to climb it. Azura occasioanlly gets off, the weather getting colder as they advance in altitude. They reach the top of the mountain and take half the time getting down that they did going up, stopping at the bottom to rest again overnight to just wake up and see the city of Surrey a few miles away. The city where the birdhouses start to arrange themselves, all the same houses, just different colors, with people that all look the same, and cars driven alike. Azura and Weadowmark cut through the city park on their way to the central city of large buildings and busy car traffic. They walk through with caution, quietly and stealthly and see the playground at the edge of the dense park in the distance. As they creep towards it to ride through quickly, a small little girl with red hair, looking to be about 10 years of age, sees them come out of the bushes near where she is playing. She stops and looks at Azura, and gasps at the sight of Weadowmark, and Azura looks over at her, hearing her gasp. The little girl steps forward and looks at them, her bright blue eyes wide with curiousity and excitement.::

Hi...::The little girl waves at them, keeping her voice quiet. Azura smiles at her, and raises her left index finger to her lips, silencing her with her ring. The little girl opens her mouth to speak, but is unable to make any noise due to Azura's ring. She touches her lips, but then smiles and just looks up at Azura, and smiles wide at her. Azura smiles again and mounts Weadowmark and runs off over the playground, past other children that scream and run away, but the little girl runs after them a little ways, but then stops, watching them ride off out of the park::

::Azura and Weadowmark slow down their pace to a walk as they begin to enter downtown, Weadowmark walking on the sidewalks past pedestrians and cars that zoom down the streets. Azura keeps looking forward, occasionally giving Weadowmark words of encourgement to just keep walking. People are looking at them as they walk down the street on the sidewalk, looking out car windows and pausing on the street to see them. They stop at a cross walk and cross, the traffic that is stopped before them stunned and shocked by the sight. For 12 blocks, Azura and Weadowmark keep this up, and finally reach where the style of the city begins to fade into countryside again. They stop before the St. Paul Church of Saints in a quiet neighborhood, and Azura dismounts Weadowmark and they walks up the road to the church. As they walk around to the back where the cemetary is, the Father is on the backporch in a rocking chair, looking out upon the world before him from his church. Azura pulls Weadowmark out towards the cemetary and the Father jumps to his feet, a little scared and a little surprised at the same time and leaves the porch towards them::

Hey! You two! Please stop! ::He waves his hand in the air and gets their attention as they both pauses. He approaches them and slows down his pace, catching his breath:: Where do you think you're going? Let the deer go! ::He looks at Weadowmark, a little confused. Weadowmark lowers his nose and nuzzles Azura's forehead as she reaches up and pets him::

Please, Father, do not think wrong of me. This is my companion. We are simply in town to visit some family. ::Weadowmark leans out and sniffs the Father as he steps back, a little shocked::

Well, uh- well...This-..this is your deer? ::He looks at the harness and the saddlebags::

::Azura nods and smiles:: Yes sir. He is not a deer though, he is a red elk. Much stronger and faster than a deer. Bigger too. ::She pets him on the forehead as he nuzzles her hand::

And-and you're here to visit family? Family-family? ::He points out to the graveyard::

::Azura nods:: Yes, Father. We won't be long. ::She proceeds to tie up Weadowmark to the opening gate::

Well...do you need a blessing? I could go with you if you would like...if you don't feel right going alone...::He smiles with his offer::

::Azura smiles:: I can go alone. I won't be long. Please just watch Weadowmark. You can talk to him if you would like. He will listen. ::She opens the gate and walks inside, leaving the two::

::The Father approaches Weadowmark slowly, cautiously reaching out his hand, and after some fear leaves him, he places it on his neck:: Well Weadowmark....I have seen some things in my earlier days...but nothing like what I have seen today.

::Azura walks through the graveyard down the main path, past many stones and crosses, mausoleums and risen graves until they start to get scarcer and trees become more common. Azura walks underneath two trees, their combining canopies over two graves. Azura stops before these graves and looks at them, staring silently before falling to her knees. She removes the jar bag from around her shoulder and sets it on the ground. She looks at the weeds, fallen leaves and cobwebs set on the graves and begins to ravagely throw them aside as she clears the grave site in minutes, and crisp, brown dirt now lies before them. Azura sits back down on the ground and proceeds to take out the small jars one by one, there being at least twenty of them. She throws the now empty bag aside and opens the jars one by one. Pouring out the contents into a pile, she quickly empties them all, throwing the empty jars and lids aside with the bag. Azura now kneels before the cleared gravesites with a pile of multiple species of seeds before her. She puts them all in her hands and throws them at the graves, immediately sticking her hands into the ground and grabbing the earth. The seeds fall and as they are pulled into the earth, they begin to grow. Flowers, ivys, small trees and shrubs sprout, Azura commanding them by her connection with the earth. The plants grow up and around the graves, surrounding them with color and branches, framing them, making them stand out in the darkness underneath the tree. When Azura sees she has done well she removes her hands from the ground and shakes them off and looks at the newly planted garden around the graves. She stares aimlessly at her work and glance back and forth between them, reading them::

"Serafina Bennett" and "Orion Bennett": Two harvested souls in the beauty of their youth.

::Azura scoffs as blank, emotionless tears roll down her cheeks as she speaks outloud::

Was that what you were to normal people? Just two..young adults that died...just some people that they threw in some graves and gave you a head stone so you MIGHT be remembered for something you lived for.....::Shakes her head:: But I am not here to "pity" you. I am here...::gets up:: You know what!? I don't even know WHY I am here! ::Throws her hands in the air and turns to leave, but she then turns back to the graves and jumps on the ground before the graves and lies face down and screams in sadness as she begins to cry::

WHY DID YOU LEAVE ME! YOU LEFT ME ALONE WITH NOBODY! I HAVE NOTHING! THERE'S NO MEANING FOR ME TO BE HERE! IT'S NOT FAIR DAMMIT! IT'S NOT FAIR! ::She kicks at the ground and pounds her hands as she yells at the graves::

::Azura continues to cry, until she lifts herself from the ground back to her knees as she speaks plainly::

Da...Mum.....I am so lost...I am alone...I am stuck right now. I want to live peacefully, but I know I never will until Spitfire is gone. But...even then I will not live because I will not be here...I will not jeporadize a family with him here. I am starting to believe that my time here was only meant to be spent to kill Spitfire. Josh, James, Zoe....none of them were meant to fall into this...This is something I was meant to do on my own, and I am the only one that can do it....::Reaches down and touches her opal ring as a faded voice speaks out from the world::

"You must trust in your only power..."

::Azura jumps up and looks around, as suddenly, the world is filled with voices that are speaking to her it seems, some identifiable, some unknown, but all speaking words to her that seem to make sense::

"Whatever happens from now on, you stand firm and face your destiny without fear, but with courage."
"What awaits you down the path, you will then have to choose."
"No one's gonna give you a map, you've gotta walk your own path."
"Children leave their homes in search of disclosure. As they do, they are always asking questions: What's out there? What's waiting for me?"
"I have lived my life by following my dreams and I don't have any regrets."
"You're just gonna keep running away?"

::Azura is confused by this:: Just keep running away....::She gasps and then closes her eyes in denial:: I'm not running....

::A final voice is heard...the voice of her father:: "Believe in yourself, and create your own destiny. Don't fear failure."

::The voices vanish and Azura nods, taking in every single word. She goes back down to her knees and bows her body to the graves, touching the earth, then rising up to her feet.::

I am running. Running away from what is required of me. I have put it off for far too long, but...::She sighs:: I will do what I still wish to do with my life, whether it be finding someone, having a family, or both, but....I will now direct my life to my purpose as a daughter, an Arch Angel...::bows her head:: and an assassin. I will kill Lord Spitfire....... That is a promise. Good-bye Mum and Da. I will see you once this is all over. ::Azura packs up her bag with all the jars and lids and heads to the exit of the cemetary::

::The Father is found leaning against Weadowmark, talking to him outloud::...-but people need to have direction in their lives, they all need something to believe, whether it's a religion, a fate, or a destiny....Oh hello..::He turns and sees Azura exiting the cemetary:: Have you finished with what you sought out to do?

::Azura nods:: Yes...::She unties Weadowmark and pulls him to back up, as the Father steps back::

You are just going to leave then? Where are you going? It's getting late...::The Father watches her perplexed::

::Azura gets up on Weadowmark and shifts her weight as she gathers the reigns in her hands:: I am going home now. We can make it through the city and to the foot of the mountain before it is totally dark ::She unties a lantern from the saddlebag and hangs it on one of the back horns of Weadowmark, as it rests between his horns in the back:: We have finished what we set out to do here. ::She turns Weadowmark around and begins to head to the exit::

Wait though! ::The Father stops them and walks towards them:: What- ::He looks back to the cemetary and then to Azura:: What is your name? Who were you visiting?

::Azura looks back at the cemetary:: My name is Azura. I was visiting my parents...::She kicks Weadowmark and he heads off at a stride to the exit, meeting the road in a matter of seconds::

::The Father looks at them ride off as he then look back to the Cemetary:: Strange things that God puts on the earth to confuse us. Yet everything sends a message...
