The Two Layas
Hehe... with this heading it seems part of Lord of the Rings (instead of "The Two Towers", "The Two Layas"; well, ahem, sorry for the silly and easy joke).
Now, talking "seriously", have you ever asked why the sisters had the same name? Too strange, isn't it? Well, here are some theories that can help us to solve the "mistery" (in no particular order):
Theory N°1: Laya was a kind of "Mary" among the... er, Layan people.
May seem valid, but it's too strange that the same family named their two sisters "Laya" only, and not "Laya Marie", or "Laya Luise", or "Laya SomethingElse". So, it's not very credible after all.
Theory N°2: It was a tradition in that family that all the girls/boys shared the same name.
Too absurd. One thing is that the first daughter/son is called after the mother/father, but that EVERYBODY shared the same name is way too ridiculous and incredible. This theory goes directly to the dustbin, without mercy...
Theory N°3: The playable Laya's name is (guess what?) bad translated.
According to the Japanese names, the playable Laya (dead Laya's sister) is called "Layalin" or something like that. Still strange, as I don't think it's quite a rational thing to call your daughters/sons the same way...
Theory N°4: Little Laya isn't Laya's sister.
Maybe now some PS fans will start doing the wave and begin saying, "Finally, this... gal, got it right". This leads to several sub-theories:
*sub-theory A: Little Laya is a robot.
This theory was created by someone else, who I don't recall. I don't think it is very credible, though. So, I'll just list it, as it isn't mine and I don't see it as a "possible" thing.
*sub-theory B: Little Laya is Laya's clone.
Can work... The Alisa 3 was suppossed to be like Palma before blowing up, and Palma is like PS2's Mota, so there must be Clone Labs! Before going to the last battle, the Layans cloned her chief, so "little Laya" could see herself going into battle with the "black sword man". It's somethiong credible!
