The Force Sword, also known as the Holy Sword, is the overall best sword that you can find in Shining Force II and can only be wielded by your leader. Don't pass it up as you cannot progress in the game without it!
Getting the Sword
The Force Sword is located in the ancient shrine south of old Granseal on Grans Island. (see map page) You may only get the Force Sword after you return to Grans Island. After the Outside Yeel 2 Battle (battle #39), head to the shrine. (This is the same shrine in the beginning of the game, from which Slade steals the jewels) Enter the ruins and pass by the chests. Go into the other room. Once there, walk to the holes where the jewels used to be. The jewels around your hero's neck will begin to glow and an opening will form in the wall. Enter the opening and then walk up to the Force Sword. The Force Sword is stuck in the rock.
Do not hit the 'C' button. Instead, press 'A' and select "Search." You will then receive the Force Sword.
Uses
The Force Sword opens the Demonic Headstone in the area nearby the gigantic chasm. To open the headstone, you must stand directly below the Demon's Head. Press 'A'. Select "Item" and then "Use," then select the Force Sword. Immediately, the Demon's Mouth will open and you will be able to enter. This leads to the maze and the Odd-Eye/Glass Tiles battle.
