Poems
Star
I am lost in my
life
and my future I
couldn’t sight.
At
the corner in the dark,
finding a way for
me to spark.
To be a star, is
that my goal?
Trying out for the
very best role.
All these fame and
popularity,
to be the best,
yes, that is me.
So I auditioned
for the part of Juliet,
yes, I was sure
that I will get the lead.
Putting on my best
Shakespeare act,
but I wonder why
do they laugh?
Then suddenly, the
director said,
“I’m sorry honey,
you looked so dead.”
giving ‘my’ role
to someone else,
made me lock my
light in prison cells.
So here I am,
sulking myself,
but hey, I’m a
winner, I don’t need help!
Or maybe this
talent that I don’t have,
is that the truth,
that I couldn’t act?
But why do my
family and friends kept telling me,
“You can make it,
just wait and see!
Don’t give up,
you’re on your way,
but it wouldn’t
happen if you just sit there or lay.
So here I am,
stronger than before,
so I practiced and
practiced, and worked some more.
This is just the
beginning of my new found quest,
because now I know
that I’m being put on a test.
To be a star, yes,
that is my goal,
and I will try out
for any role.
Yes, I still seek
fame and popularity,
to be the best,
now that is definitely me.
I may struggle for
my quest today,
and at any price,
I will pay.
And if I don’t
make it, I will try again,
Cause from
mistakes there is something to gain.
Yesterday’s downer
is a history,
but I will cherish
the moments that was a victory.
I will enjoy it,
hot or cold,
like me, we all wonder what our future may hold.
