Jerry O Shout S-217 1967 Karate-Boo-Ga-Loo Jerry Murray - Sammy Kaplan Jerry Murray 2:20 The Pearl Jerry Murray - Sammy Kaplan Jerry Murray 2:25 # 51 (pop); # 16 (R&B) VG / VG (name 'Joe Quattrowe' in blue magic marker and and '#28 sticker on label) none $10.00 none This is a great slice of mid-1960s groove with Jerry-O and the ladies (reportedly Telma Hopkins and Joyce Vincent of future Tony Orlando and Dawn fame) sounding like they were enjoying one helluva party in the studio. To be honest, other than providing a steady stream of jiving and vamping, Jerry-O doesn't really do all that much throughout either track. In spite of the title, the flip side is the same song as the 'A" side (without the female backing vocals). For you soul fanatics, this is actually a reissue. The 45 was originally released of Jerry-O's own Boo-Ga-Loo label with Atlantic's Shout subsidiary licensing it for national distribution.
