Kicked along by a nifty synthesizer pattern (that sounds like it was copped from Stevie Wonder) and some tres cool horns, these guys never sounded as funky. At least to my ears it's unlike anything in their earlier Motown-influenced career. Imagine a blend between George Clinton and Sly Stone and you'll be in the right listening neighborhood. Only complaint is that the 'A" side fade out was butchered.
