Crosby's material can be pretty unconventional and un-commercial, which makes these two tracks kind of a surprise ... Propelled by strummed acoustic guitars and nice harmonies (but a dumb lyric - basically the title repeated endlessly), the 'A' side sounded like a CSN/CSN&Y throwaway. The non-LP flip side was actually far better. Sporting a killer melody and Crosby patented deadpanned delivery, the song was actually written back in 1968 with at least two solo versions recorded. Crosby apparently tried to get CSN&Y to record it for "Deja Vu" but the others passed. Brought out for the "If I Could Only Remember My Name" sessions (but not included on the original LP), this version featured support from Jerry Garcia (pedal steel and lead guitar), Phil Lesh (bass), Bill Kreutzmann (drums) and Joni Mitchell (harmony vocals). The results were exceptionally catchy, probably better than most of the songs on his debut LP and should have been a hit ....
