Not knowing anything about this outfit, I actually picked this one up for the Millie Jackson connection - she produced both sides.  Turns out that Jackson was also responsible for pulling this trio together (Chuck Carter, Jean Davis and Keith Williams).  Carter and Williams were long time friends and Jackson supporters who'd actually helped her start her career.  Jackson and Davis became friends when Jackson toured with her Tyrone Davis.  Jean happened to be Tyrone's sister.  Williams had also been a member of The Chesters, The Flamingos, The Imperials and The Velours.  Jackson apparently hoped to record material with each of the three, but time and other constraints made that a no start so she elected to pull them together under the name The Gospel Truth, which after one 45 was changed to The Facts of Life.  Her initial efforts to land them a recording deal went nowhere, but Jackson producer Brad Shapiro stepped in offering them a contract on his Kayvette label.

Their debut as The Facts of Life, the 'A" side was a pretty good 'cheatin'' slow groove.  Nothing that you hadn't heard before, but Davis' tart voice was well suited for the tale of woe and worry and the chorus was nice.  With Williams handling the lead vocals the flip side was an up tempo piece that was almost funky.   Very nice and actually the stronger of the two tracks.
