There are a couple of The Intrigues out there. This is the late-1970s Philly-based quartet composed of Alfred Brown, Ron Hamilton, James Harris, and James Lee. This single was originally released on Jim Bullet and W.C. Worthington's Nashville-based Bullet label (Bullet catalog number 1001). The last release by Bullet, the slightly larger Yew Records apparently acquired national distribution rights reissuing the 45.
Self-penned, it's easy to see why the 'A' side was their biggest hit. Great tune, great lead vocals and great harmonies. That said, the goofy flip side is even better ... It may have been recorded in 1969, but it sounds like an early-1960s effort that Sam Cooke might have recorded. Fantastic !!!
