Fronted by Little Royal (aka Royal Torrence), I think these guys were based in Asbury Park, New Jersey but had a big Washington, D.C. following. Powered by Royal's husky voice, the 'A' side offered up a decent, if not particularly original old school ballad. The flip side was a cool horn-powered instrumental that found a nice funk and jazz groove. James Brown would have approved of it. It's kind of funny, but in the late 1980s the track won renewed attention when Ice T sampled the horns for his song 'Lethal Weapon' off of the "The Iceberg/Freedom of Speed ... Just Watch What You Say" LP.
