Written by The Shondells' Tommy James, the 'A' side offered up a great slice of pop-meets-psych, complete with a wonderful melody, treated vocals and lots of studio effects.  A classic period piece that you'll never hear on the radio.  The bizarre flip side was even better.  Michael Stipe and company may have made it popular, but these guys did it first and best !!!
