Recorded during a 1982 Irish tour, "UB 40
Live" was a surprisingly tight and impressive effort (to our ears it's better than the 1987 "UB40 CCCP - Live In Moscow" concert set). A mix of early English hits and album tracks, the band seemed comfortable and at ease effortlessly rolling through the ten selections. Highlights included the lazing "Don't Slow Down", "Politician" and "Piper Calls the Tune". Not exactly a smash hit, the sit managed to hit #44 on the English charts. (Always liked Brian Travers'
low tech cover art.)
