This one was quirky enough to capture our attention at a yardsale ...
Produced by R.S. Fields (who also contributed most of the material), 1986's "It Came from Nashville" won't come as a musical surprise to anyone familiar with the rest of the band's catalog. Musically the album offers up an easy going and inspiring mix of 50s rock influences (courtesy of guitarist Donny Roberts' Duane Eddy-styled moves), Ventures-styled surf instrumentals, Mojo Nixon craziness and classic pop moves. Propelled by Weber's nifty growling voice, the mix of live selections and studio material makes for a blast. To our ears the highlights include the rockabilly opener "How Long Can She Last (Going That Fast)", the instrumental "Horror Hayride" and their top-40ish live cover of Steve Earle's "The Devil's Right Hand"
