Chapter 5
Richard took up a defensive position, and stood in front of me. He was reacting better to battles, but he wasn't getting any smarter. He still trusted everyone, even me. Ha, bad choice.
With Richard's back to me, I only had a couple of choices. I could distract him, but if I chose that way, I would probably end up screwing him in front of three hundred strangers. Not the best choice. My other choice would be to get involved between the two weres, not a good idea. The best choice would have to be to ignore it, and let them deal with it. Guess which one I chose. Ignore it.
I turned away from Richard and Micah and set my attention's to something more helpless, like Jason.
He didn't look too good either. Blood was still seeping out of his nose, and his breathing became more struggled than before.
I kneeled down to him, while still nothing happened between Micah and Richard. I braced his neck in my elbow and held him close, murmuring 'it's all right' 'your going to be fine' into his ear. Just the touch of my skin seemed to make him feel more confident in himself, and allow the healing process to continue more thoroughly.
In the background I could hear Richard and Micah fighting, but I didn't pay much attention to it. Boys can be so stupid and imbecile at many times of the day. The fight was probably the 50th dumb thing Richard has done today.
Jason was slowly becoming more conscious than before, and was responding to the simple questions I asked to see if he was all himself. He seemed to be, so I decided to ask him to tell me what the hell was going on here.
"Jason. Jason look at me. Jason please concentrate on what I'm saying," I picked him up a little more to cradle in my arms. "Jason, what is going on here? Why are you all gathered here without the rest of the pack? Why is just the guys that are here tonight? Please, Jason, please tell me."
His eyes looked so full of secrets that he wanted to tell me, pleaded to tell me, but he didn't have the strength in him. Jason went limp in my arms, but kept a slow steady heartbeat. I carefully laid him down, stood, and brushed off the imaginary dust on my pants, which turned off to be blood instead. I was covered in Jason's and god knows who's blood.
I strode off towards the Jeep, not caring about the stupid immature boys, got in the Jeep, started it, and pulled up next to where I left Jason.
After loading Jason in the back seat, I slipped inside, and noticed a new presence in the car before I turned to see him. The person in the car was not Micah, but someone way worse. Edward.
