Let's Sleep-over at North Foothold!
story by: Lina
Marie Inverse
It was already evening at Wolf Pack Island...the weather was
too humid and Xelas couldn't take it anymore! "Damn... I've been living
in this place for so long and this is the only time that I've realized that
this place is really hell!" she thought angrily.
So she stood up from her bed and decided to go to her neesan, Graushaila,
over at North Foothold...a very cold place. In fact, she was very determined
to stay there for a while that she didn't even mind the cold air that greeted
her upon arrival. She smiled, satisfied at herself. "Now, to find Graushaila..."
she thought as she began walking down the big halls of his castle. "It's
nine thirty in the evening, I bet he's in his bedroom now..." she muttered
to herself.
"Xelas-sama, is that you?" asked a very familiar voice from behind
her.
Xelas stopped walking and turned around. "Oh, hello there, Shaila!"
she greeted with a cheery smile, noticing that Shaila's already in her sleepwear.
Shaila smiled weakly. "Um...what are you doing here at this hour?"
she asked.
"Visiting you and your dear master...and I'm also planning to spend the
night here coz the humid weather at my island is really getting through my
nerves." Xelas replied as she turned and began to walk away from Shaila,
heading to Graushaila's bedroom. Shaila went after her. "Hey! Xelas-sama!?"
she called. But Xelas ignored her, proceeding to the door of Graushaila's
room. Shaila teleported and reappeared before Xelas, blocking her way before
she could hold the doorknob.
Xelas was surprised at her. "Why, Shaila! Don't worry, I won't dare sleep
with your master! That'd be the last thing I'd do!" she replied with
disgust in her face.
"It's not that, but...Graushaila-sama requested awhile ago that the guest
rooms should be renovated...and so..." she began. Xelas frowned. "And
so what?" she asked.
Then, Graushaila opened his bedroom door and was surprised to see Xelas there.
"Hey, whatcha doin' here?" he demanded in an annoyed tone.
Xelas smiled. "Oh hello, oneesan! Can I sleep-over here?" she asked.
Graushaila jerked at the question. "Don't call me oneesan!... You too?
Sleep over here?!" he asked.
"Why?" Xelas asked, blinking.
Graushaila stepped aside and Xelas took a peek inside. Her eyes grew wide.
"DOLPHIN?! GARV?! FIBRIZO?!" she wailed.
The 3 turned to her. "Oh hello, Xelas!" Fibrizo greeted happily.
He was already wearing his jammies. Dolphin giggled. "Oh goody!!! Xelas
is also gonna sleep here! Xelas is also gonna sleep here with us?! Cool! Great!
I mean...THAT'S COOL!!" she cheered happily. Xelas felt a nerve forming
on her head. "What are Dolphin and Garv doing here too?" she asked.
"Hey, you think you're the only one with the heatwave problem?"
Garv snapped.
Shaila stepped aside and let Xelas enter. "I guess I'll be sleeping in
Shaila's room tonight..." Xelas told them. "No, Shaila will also
sleep here." Graushaila said.
"Hey, she isn't living in a guest room, right?" Xelas asked.
"My room is also being renovated, Xelas-sama." Shaila replied with
a sheepish look.
Xelas turned to the other 3. They are going to sleep on the floor on a big
cushion that can take 5 people.
"If you're thinking of hogging the bed, then forget it! The bed's mine
and besides, this is my room! Go find your place on that cushion!" Graushaila
said as Shaila entered and closed the door.
"What about your general? Where will she sleep?" Garv asked with
a sour look on his face.
"Heeheehee!!! Don't tell me you're gonna sleep with her on that bed!
Lucky, lucky, lucky, lucky, Graushaila!!! heeheehee!!!" Dolphin said
with a malicious look on her face.
Graushaila threw one of his boots at Dolphin's face."NO! Damn you, you
insane creature!" he yelled in anger.
Shaila sat down beside Fibrizo on the cushion. "Forgive my impatient
master...you're lucky that he's letting you guys sleep here tonight...coz
he's really not this hospitable especially to you, Xelas-sama." she whispered
to the 4.
"Nah, that's okay with me, Shaila. In fact, I don't think I will be able
to sleep tonight!" Dolphin said.
"Why, Dolphin-sama?" Shaila asked.
Dolphin smirked. "Because who knows, Graushaila might awoken in the middle
of the night and invite you over to his bed! I will be watching!!!" she
replied.
Xelas whacked Dolphin's face with her sandal.
"Ow! That's the second footwear that hit my pretty face!" Dolphin
reacted.
"You'll be getting a third one or more if you continue talking crap!"
Garv snapped. Dolphin giggled again.
Xelas sat down. beside Shaila. "I'll stay on this side." she told
them.
Dolphin, Fibrizo, Garv and Graushaila looked at her. "That's the edge,
sis." Fibrizo told her.
"Yeah, so what if it's the edge?" she demanded before lying down.
"And it's facing the window." Dolphin continued.
"So?" Xelas asked.
"If a scary creature appears, you'll be the first one to be eaten first!"
Fibrizo told her.
Xelas sat up again and gave them a sarcastic look. "You think I'll believe
that crap?" she asked.
Dolphin smiled. "Just warnin' ya, little sis!" she told her cheerfully.
"Will you stop smiling and being happy, Dolphin! I hate happiness!"
Graushaila scolded.
"Hey, look who's talking! You're also happy coz Shaila's here!"
Dolphin snapped.
Graushaila frowned, blushing a little as he looked away. Shaila felt uneasy
with the others around...
"I'm tired, okay? Let me sleep. And if that scary creature appears, I
will blame it on one of you!" Xelas said as she laid back on the cushion
again and turned away from the others, facing the edge. "The only scary
creature here is Garv..." she muttered.
Shaila bit her lip in an effort not to laugh upon hearing it. Luckily, Garv
didn't hear that. Dolphin was still smiling at Graushaila, annoying him with
it. Fibrizo brought out a book of fairy tales. "Can someone read this
to me?" he asked.
Graushaila, Garv, Dolphin, Shaila and Xelas turned to him. "You know
how to read!" they told him.
"You want me to crush your marbles?" Fibrizo asked them with an
impatient look on his face.
Dolphin grabbed the book from him and opened it. "Lesseee....what story
would you like to hear?...oh I get it!!! Here it is! The Three Little Pigs!"
she told them.
"Aw, not that again?!" Garv asked.
"Try another one." Dolphin said.
Xelas sat up. "What about a romantic story?" she asked.
"EEEEYUCK!!! Mush! I hate mush! Tell the story, Dolphin!" Fibrizo
said.
Dolphin smiled and began to read. "Okay, here goes...*ahem* Once upon
a time, there were 3 little piggies!!! Their names were Garv, Graushaila and
Xelloss!" she began.
Garv and Graushaila's mouths dropped open. Xelas frowned. "Hey, that's
my minion!" she said.
Before the others could react, Dolphin continued: "Their mother, LON
told them that they are already big piggies, so they need to find their own
home! Though sad, the 3 left their mommy and built their own homes. Garv built
a house made of hay, Graushaila built a house made of sticks, and Xelloss
built a house made of bricks..."
"Are you sure you're reading from the book?" Xelas interrupted.
"Shh! You're ruining the moment!" Fibrizo told her.
"Hey, I'm smarter than that!" Graushaila said.
"And by the way, did you say that I'm a pig?" Garv asked. Dolphin
looked at them and nodded. Then, he began to read again despite the nerves
forming on their heads: "But there's a big, bad wolfie named Xelas!!
And she destroyed the houses of..." she stopped when Xelas grabbed the
book from her. "Gimme that! I'll continue the story!" she said in
annoyance. "Awww... don't you like my story, Xelas dearie?" Dolphin
asked.
"Don't call me dearie, you cad! Now let me continue..." Xelas said,
turning to the book. She smiled keenly and began: "But Garv and Graushaila
escaped Xelas, the prettiest wolfie ever! And you know what happened? They
got lost in a forest! Then, to their surprise, they saw a house made out of
fishsticks! Since they were hungry already, they went to the house and ate
the fishsticks...and guess what, the very baaaaad sea witch named Dolphin
came out of the house and caught them! SHE IS GOING TO COOK THEM AND EAT THEM!!!"
"Hey, that's not the storyline of The 3 Little Pigs! That's Hansel and
Gretel already!!!" Garv cut in.
"Yeah, so?" Xelas asked with an annoyed look.
"Is it going to have a happy ending or not? Coz if not, I don't wanna
listen anymore!" Fibrizo told Xelas.
"Of course it will have a happy ending, oneesan! A happy ending you want,
a happy ending you'll get!" she replied with a cheerful smile.
Fibrizo face-faulted. "Don't call me oneesan...it sounds silly..."
he muttered.
Xelas winked and began to speak again, turning to the book. "Okay, where
was I...OH! There! Dolphin is already mixing monosodium glutamate to her brew,
and Garv and Graushaila were trying to escape! But, Dolphin managed to complete
her brew of sleeping potion so that she could make them drink it to make them
unconscious so she could cook them hassle-free. Graushaila was the first one
to drink it and he finished all of it that there's nothing left for Garv!
And instantly, he fell asleep!"
"I've been noticing that I am always the unfortunate ones when it comes
to your stories?!" Graushaila cut in. Xelas ignored her brother and began
to read again. "Well anyway, Dolphin got the 2 out of the cage and let
Garv go, but placed Graushaila in a bedroom. She cast a spell upon him, that
he would only awoken if he is kissed by a beautiful princess!!!"
Graushaila jerked, feeling nervous and excited at the same time, hoping that
Xelas would include Shaila in her story. He began to blush again.
Xelas continued. "The news was heard all over the place and but no princess
came... coz Graushaila is the ugliest man..." she said.
"Hey, I'm not UGLY!" Graushaila interrupted.
"Shut up! But there's a young princess who got lost one day and then
came to the house. She was the one who kissed Graushaila and made him wake
up and they got married and had lotsa kids and lived happily ever after!!!"
Xelas ended.
"GREAT!!!" Fibrizo cheered happily, clapping his hands.
"Hey, who's the princess? What's her name?" Graushaila asked.
Xelas smiled. "Oh, did I mention that the princess' name is Volfield?"
she said with a sarcastic smile.
Graushaila suddenly couldn't move.
"BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! Nice one there, Xel!" Garv told her.
"Um...Graushaila-sama, are you okay?" Shaila asked.
"Stop exaggerating, it's only a story, Graushaila." Dolphin said.
Graushaila snapped out of it. "But Volfield's a man and...HE'S A GOD?!"
he wailed in protest.
"So?" Xelas asked as she handed the book to Fibrizo and laid back
again, ready to fall asleep.
"You're sick!" Graushaila said.
"You're the one who's sick coz you got affected by that little fairy
tale I just read a while ago." Xelas said while yawning.
"Why I oughtta..." Graushaila was about to jump out of his bed but
Fibrizo snapped his fingers and all the lights went out. "Lights out!
G'night!" Fibrizo told them.
"Damn!" was all Graushaila could say before lying down on his bed
and drifting off to sleep.
