Shaila watched as Graushaila destroyed one of his minions with his
own hands. He just came home from a battle with the gods. Blood splattered
everywhere. “Failure! Always failure!” he screamed at them angrily.
Shaila was quiet. She wouldn’t dare react when he’s angry for he
might hit her.
The other minions cowered at his feet. “We’re sorry, master!” they
said. Graushaila was very mad. “You were beaten by the Knight of Ceified!? Is
that an excuse? Then kill her too! I’m sure she is not that strong! She is just
a human!” he yelled at them. “Sir, Luna Inverse is very strong!”
“Yeah! 10 times stronger than Lina Inverse to be exact!”
“10 of us died!”
Graushaila screamed at them an angry roar. The cold air began to
blow around the place. Shaila shivered. She took a step back, fear in her eyes.
Graushaila snapped his fingers. “I don’t need useless minions..”
he told them. Then each of the minor minions exploded, blood splattering
everywhere. Even his hands and his face have blood stains. He frowned and his
gaze was far away into the distance, several thoughts clouding his mind. Then
he sighed and went to his seat and sat down.
The cold wind stopped blowing. “I lost again…I lost to Ceified’s
minions…I need a better strategy…”he said in a hoarse whisper. Shaila bit her
lip. She understood her master’s grieving.
Graushaila looked at his left arm. It was bleeding. He had
forgotten that Luna had injured him; but though painful, he held and squeezed
it. “Damn…” he said.
Shaila approached him and got her handkerchief. She knelt down by
him and took his hand and wiped off the stains; then she reached for his face
and removed the blood stains too. Graushaila looked at her as she did this.
Shaila caught his gaze and stopped her current activity.
They stared at each other for quite a while. Graushaila frowned
and looked away. Shaila smiled weakly. “Don’ t worry, Master Graushaila, I will
avenge you, even if it means that my life should pay if I fail…” she told him.
His frown disappeared. “Don’t worry…you don’t have to avenge me…”
he told her. Then he looked at her with a sweet and gentle smile on his face, a
look she has never seen before in such an evil and ruthless Dark Leader.
“You just stay here unless I tell you to do so. For if you die, I
will no longer have a good general by my side.” He told her.
Shaila frowned. “But sir, I am your general and my duty is to
protect you!” she said. “But Shaila, you are my minion and my job is to protect
you!” he told her.
Shaila blushed. Graushaila smiled and poked her nose gently. He chuckled.
Shaila smiled. “Whatever you wish, sir…” she answered sheepishly.
Somehow, a seemingly heartless mazoku could also have a little
heart hidden deep inside him, waiting to be found…
