"Do you like what we've done with the place?" Baeris asks, and grins widely. She's apparently grown fangs now. Well, given Ivo, Shezumi, Cynonix and half the other oddities in the Protectorate, it was bound to happen sometime.
"I just love it..." You mutter, "I think."
"Great! Well, if you want to have some punch, there's a big bowl over there. Now, be careful that you don't drink too much. Tabitha made that punch, and well, you know..." She shrugs, and grins again around her fangs.
"There are also some nice little gifts you might like to take home with you. Candy and toys, for the young ones. Don't let them eat it all in one sitting, and make sure they brush their teeth." Always the observant Healer. "And here, a special treat. A basket of eggs which we found. Now, we're not really sure where these eggs came from, they were stuck deep in a fissure down there." She tosses her head and you look, a dim corridor with a faint red flickering light at the end of it.
"Someone went down there to get these? Just for this party?" You stammer. "They're braver than I thought..."
"How right..." Baeris says, and drifts away to let you choose what you'd like to gather up.
Remember, please only take what you will be putting up on your Candidate pages. Decorations can include lots of Halloweeny themed background sets, found all over the net. Flitter rules: don't take more than one per character's page. That keeps the eggs fair game, and the other candidates for normal clutches won't get jealous.
Baeris pops out from behind a grave stone, and startles you.
"I forgot something! If you want, you can sign up for Candidacy. It's a very special clutch, of course, all Frenzies are. But remember that this time around we're accepting EVERYONE who comes, as long as they follow the general rules of the Healing Den and Protectorate."
"What might those rules be?" You ask, curious about candidacy yourself.
"Well if you read this, you'll understand." Baeris points at a large parchment on the dark wall, and you read it.
1-- Candidate may be male or female or ... whatever. Dragons will be awarded by personality and cleverness of page quality, not gender. If you have a problem with cross-gender impression go somewhere else.
2-- Candidates may come from ANY WORLD. As long as they are original they will be accepted -- noone will be turned away because of 'race'. That means, Humans (from ANYWHERE/ANY WHEN), Elves, Furries, Shapeshifters, Dragon-born, Undead, Spirit, Amphibious, Stitched back together (reanimated), Cross-breeds, whatever.
3-- Characters MUST be original. They can be based IN a world (Pern, Alskyr, Earth, Zekira, whatever), or from a TV show (X Files, Buffy, Charmed, whatever), a video game (I don't play them, pick one), anime, cartoons, or just your fevered imaginations. BUT -- they MUST be your creation, not just some character that you've taken all the details of and changed the name, or just the hair color, or whatever. Please try and be as original as possible.
4-- Pages MUST be themed appropriately. This is a special Holiday clutch, so spooky Halloween stuff is important. If not directly Halloween, then some element of 'different' in a dark, spooky way. Or, in a silly, trick or treat kind of way too. Masquerades, trick or treaters, whatever. It's Halloween! Make your character appropriate to the mood of the season!
5-- I will NOT be limiting the number of candidates from any one person or site. I won't be running out of eggs, any time soon. However, I will ask that the pages be COMPLETELY ready by October 25th. I will be on vacation the week before that, so that should give enough time to make them decent. I won't be accepting any late comers -- though I will try to work around other's schedules with school and the like, if it's absolutely impossible to get in on time.
666-- Please interact. We have a yahoo club, feel free to use it. If you've got characters who want to interact with any of the Healing Den or Kshau Protectorate staff, feel free to choose one or two and go for it. I only ask that you keep to the spirit and personality of the character and not place them into situations which go obviously against their prior pages. (In other words, please READ the character pages before using them.) I will ask to make minor corrections, if need be, but I'll accept anything with as much good grace (and tongue in cheek) as I can muster.
7-- The hatching will occur around Halloween. I hope to have it done the night before, because Wednesday (which is Halloween 2001) is a very busy day at my work, and I won't have the energy to do it then. There will NOT be hatchling pictures, sorry, like all special and frenzy clutches, I work ONLY on the adults for these hatchings. They will be considered "Adults" when they've been up on pages for more than 1 month from the Hatching. Okay? That'll save people the worry about when they can send these beauties out to breed... bwah hah...
7a-- Please have pictures up by November 10th. Only exceptions are for those who absolutely can't do that, and CONTACT me about it. Otherwise, the dragon WILL be abandoned.
