ABC 6/10/01 23:05:15 More than six-thousand foreign tourists have cancelled their holiday plans on Indonesia's resort island of Bali following the twin terror attacks in the United States. The state Antara news agency reported those who cancelled their trips to Bali included American and European tourists as well as Asian holidaymakers. The report said threats by militant Muslim groups to "sweep" or drive out Americans from Indonesia, the world's most populous Muslim nation, had the most impact in turning tourists away. Several militant groups here have threatened to expel citizens of countries which support any US attack on Afghanistan. The US State Department last week told all Americans to consider leaving Indonesia and warned against travelling to the country. 6/10/01 23:05:15
